Baking linked Revit elements

The Graphical Element component can bake elements from the current file, but it cannot bake objects linked from other Revit files. Is there a workaround for this?

Hi Harri,

The workflow you describe should suffice in most cases

Hi Japhy!

For some reason only layers are baked for the linked elements. I don’t get any objects. Baking works fine if the same elements are not linked.

Good day Harri,

Can you provide some additional details about the type of object that you’re baking? That could be a big factor, for instance if you were baking curtain wall.

Hi Japhy,

It seems this problem applies to all object types.

For example, I’m trying to bake walls from a linked Revit file; even though the preview is visible, no objects are actually appearing in Rhino.

what happens if you do a cntl+A in the Rhino file? anything selected?

are their any blocks in the block manager?

Nothing is selected if I do Ctrl + A.

BlockManager seems to show one of the walls that can be inserted to Rhino:

Thanks Harri,

So it’s not a file units issue.

Can you package up a small example? Revit file, gh file, Rhino file? Thanks

Thanks Japhy,

Here is the previous example packed.

thanks, seeing this as well.

At the moment you can get the Element Geometry Bake using Content Cache (or similar)
