since a recent windows 10 update Rhino 6 Autosav does not seem to work.
It is set to save every 20 minutes but no file saved in either the desginated autosave folder (I use a folder not on the C drive (D:\00000-AUTOSAV RHINO 6 2022) in case I get a system crash that trashes the system). Nor is it in the recycle bin.
I have seen no files since windows updated on 28th January
.NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 on 28th January KB5008876
and KB5008212
I have also set the autosav foilder to default and stil no sign of any autsaved files anywhere on the PC ???
How are you testing AutoSave?
Not so much as testing but the autosaved files began to disapper ! ?
Up until 28 January I used to get Auosaved files in my recycle bin. However after the NETframework update that stopped, so the last file that appears in the recycle bin is dated 28/02/22. I dont think that its a coinicidence that there was a windows update the same day the files began to disappear.
I have however tried forcing an autotsave by running a clean file in rhino 6, then adding a box entitiy and before saving the file, then ending Rhino using taskmanager. Then tried doing the same thing by modifying the entitiy and using task manager to end Rhino without saving.
Either way I do not get a file in the autosave folder OR the recycle bin???.
I am using the default locations for the auotsave folder and have tried setting the time to 1 minute to see if anything appears but alas still zilch !! It also appears the autosave clock has stalled as I no longer now get the blue doughnut symbol that used pop up on the screen when it was autosaving,
If I type Autosave in the command line then a file does appear in the default autosave folder
C:\Users***********\AppData\Local\McNeel\Rhinoceros\6.0\AutoSave\RhinoAutosave.3dm

Hi -
I would try to Repair
the Rhino installation to see if that helps.
Other than that, make sure that you’ve installed all Windows updates.

I also had this problem but autosave has started working again correctly (presunably after another W10 update), with files appearing in autosave and recycle bin. I have big problems with windows 10 updating itself even when the feature is supposedly switched off. It almost always wrecks my computer in some way or other. I wish theyd just get windows working properly and leave it alone instead of keep messing with it. No wonder so many people wont have anything to do with windows.
