Automatically turn Edit Points On/Off when selection filters are applied

Some of our employees have asked if there was a way to have Edit Points turn on/off automatically depending on which SubD selection filter they’ve clicked. This guys…

For instance, if they click the vertex filter, they would want the points to become visible. OR if the points are visible and they want to switch to face selection mode, the points would automatically turn off.

I’ve given them some steps to edit the commands to include “EditPtOn” and “PointsOff.”

Would it be possible to add a toggle somewhere that quickly does this. Or maybe make this the default behavior for the SubD selection filters? Thanks!

Hi @Toren_Hills1 ,

I would do this as you are with command macros. The edge and face filters could additionally use the Cancel or PointsOff command in their own macros to turn off any edit pts that are shown when they are used.

There is also a default mouse over highlight for SubD sub-objects that could be tweaked per display mode to be more visible if that helps them.

For the size when Edit pts are shown you’d change it here too…

Thanks Brian! I’ll be sure to relay that information. I’ll be putting those control point size options to use as well.
