Automatically Create UI's from Grasshopper Scripts

Interesting. It loads up when I try it out, I’ll send you a private message about some details.

This seems fantastic. Going to test it at home this weekend. Lots of potential with the new geo cache feature in GH/Rhino 8.

I could see a scenario where the last solution state of a script is saved to the baked or pushed geo, and you could reload that solution state from the Rhino geo later into the script…acting almost like an enhanced form of history management.

Looking forward to digging into this.

Hey Keyan, loving the plugin did you manage to test it out futher on MacOS?

Just to add something else. I tried making a simple box with x,y,z sliders. If I open Rhino and use the Library or From File option I cannot see the box unless I click on Show GH. Which kind of defeats the purpose. Does geometry need to be baked or processed? It does not mention on your site.

Hello there, I have a big faith in this project, any chance for a future update ?

Sorry for taking a while to get back to you. If you want to preview geometry without showing the GH, you can use a geometry Param and label it’s group with “Output”, which will give you the option to toggle previews in Rhino or in the Suimple panel itself

I hope so! But admittedly probably not until the summer. I am considering just open sourcing the repo since my time is getting pulled in other directions these days.

Thank you for this, it’s a very promising UI and task manager (how ever one should call it)

I ran into few bugs (which I know is expected), I just wanted to put them here.

If someone hit the load button after targeting a file, then quickly hit the show grasshopper (on fresh rhino start), then grasshopper doesn’t load completely and native component can be missing.

  • 2
If you update the groups in a grasshopper definition, and want to reopen the newly saved grasshopper file, suimple makes rhino crash (on the “load” button click).

Minor one, but I can’t remove a grasshopper file once it has been added to the UI.

Looking forward to what’s next for siumple !

Hello @krahimzadeh! I’m testing this on macOS and I’m not able to launch the viewer from Rhino command line. The plugin gets installed but the command Suimple is unknown to rhino. A bit of digging shows that Suimple is not present on the Rhino plugin list and apparently is not loaded on start up.

That would be great ! The community can help with anything.

It would be a shame to let that plugin go without attention, would you like to start a patreon account ? I am sure a lot of people would be ready to chip in for an upgraded version (Integration of buttons and soon)
