Automatic update of 2D Drawings whenever I open a file

Every time I open a rhino file, my 2D drawings update automatically. I’ve tried to lock the viewport but it’s not helping. I have been working for hours on one of these drawings to clean up lines and now when I’m opening the file it updates the drawing automatically, destroying all of my progress. I’ve tried to just undo the last change, but since it’s automatic it doesn’t register as a change. How can I disable this?

I’ve exited without saving the file, so I know that the correct version is still there, but I need to somehow disable this immediately, so it doesn’t have time to update and I don’t know how to do that.

Hi Lovisa, That feature request has been implemented into Rhino 9. Its too big of a change to backport to Rhino 8.

One workflow would be to copy the clipping drawings and put them on new layers, breaking the update cycle.
