Automate addition of text on each layer

I run a program called RhinoNC that produces tool paths for a 7-axis robot. RhinoNC adds a new layer for each layer. Sometimes if there are a lot of layers, I provide a GIF for our robot operators so they can see how the layers build up. I do this with a screen-to-gif program, which is basically a screen grab.

My question…

Is there a way to add text, for example… Layer 1… Layer 2… Layer 3… In the actual workspace, but also remove it as I enable each layer? Not sure I am explaining my problem right…

Hi, this can be done with Grasshopper. You’ll need a script and Elefront.
