Auto Cplane from clippingplane

Hi,

I have been experiencing what I would describe as “random ghost CPlane assignments” for some time, but I had not been able to identify the cause.

Today I noticed that the CPlane seems to follow my clipping plane when I move it around.

Is this intended behavior? I am fairly certain this is not how it used to work.

For my workflow, it is quite disruptive that the CPlane can change without me explicitly setting it, especially if it happens without me noticing. I can see the use case for manually assigning a clipping plane as the CPlane, but it seems problematic if this is the default behavior. Ideally, this would be an option or checkbox for users who want it.

If this is not intended behavior, could it be related to having VisualARQ installed? Is it possible that VisualARQ is overriding or influencing the CPlane behavior?

Hi Hny -

It is if you have the AutoCPlane feature turned on. Any time you select a planar “surface”, the CPlane will automatically be set to that object. For your workflow, you’ll want to turn off that feature.

Great. Is it me, who have unintentionally enabled it, or has there been a change to make this default?

But that did the trick. Sorry on my part not to search for the command in Rhino. I was so keen on finding the “issue” on the forum, that I overlooked the feature it is. Haven’t read the full commandlist in a few years. May be time to read up on the features
