As soon the last point of a drawing is clicked. the object dissappears.
In Edit > Select > All I see there is 1 extrusion. So it should be there.
But what is happening that I do not see it?
I did a reset to be sure this is not a bad setting I did.
I am using a macbook pro, running sonoma.
what display mode are you working in?
It might help to reset that particular display mode to defaults.
In the display panel, any chance you have surface edges turned off?
posting the result from running the systeminfo command in rhino will help too.

All viewports were set to wireframe. After changing to other display modes my stuff showed up. Thanks @theoutside

When I draw a 2D thing it does not show up. 3D things are visible.
Must be a setting too to change?

According to Identify your MacBook Pro model - Apple Support, the latest compatible OS version for the MacBookPro11,1 is macOS 11 (Big Sur). I’d expect problems when running a non-compatible OS on Apple hardware.
You could try the TestMetal command in Rhino. That will switch to the old OpenGL display pipeline, and while some things might work better that way, you are pretty much guaranteed to run into some issues with that as well.

By now I found that the issue I have is related to the wireframe settings.
Some setting must be wrong there.
(when I started Rhino yesterday, I am sure I did see some 2D objects I made on the screen, so somewhere it was changed (my me, probably

But what?
I run sonoma with opencorepatcher, what runs fine for all apps I use, this would be the first one with an issue.
Tested Testmetal.
When Metal is OFF, I only see wireframes. No rendered objects anymore and yes, I see the 2D objects I made.
When Metal is ON, I see rendered objects 
. But no wireframes.
But I see the lines while drawing. But, as before, not the results.
I installed the Windows version on the same machine. (Intel on Macbook Pro).
Now it seems to work like it should,
right, that setting is windows only- In OSX graphics performance is all controlled by the OS itself.

Sorry to say, but answer is NO and NO
So I guess I have two options:
So far from designing and creating in Rhino.
It gets even worse.
To test Rhino on Montery and Windows, I had to delete the licency key.
And then login on the other OS. This worked fine 1 time.
Now it says I have a evalution key and gratulates me.
And right after it tells me there is no licence key and shuts Rhino down.
End of story

OK. found some instructions on this forum about re-entering the key. And that worked.
Next to Monterey Rhino8 and pfffffh, there is worked out of the box.
Nice wireframes + rendering. No cursor ball running until crash.
