I want the objects to array to the right. The top few of these objects go to the left for some reason. I’ve tried extending the paths to the right, but they still go left. The model’s below the video.

To go positive on the curve, you need to pick to the left of the midpoint.
The objects are arrayed in a positive direction along the curve.
If you pick to the right of the midpoint, the distance between the arrayed objects is evaluated as a negative direction on the curve.
And the geometry is located to the left, instead of the right of the original object to array.

Thanks Mary. I think. 
So positive is to the right, but in order to accomplish that one needs to click to the left of the midpoint. And maybe if the circumstances were flipped so would positive and negative… I’m sure I’ll figure it out based on these tips. But it’s a bit of a mind bender.
