I have the exterior volume modeled. How would you convert it to this chaotic lines? I imagine grasshopper would be the way to go, but I have been trying to learn to use it for quite some time now, to no avail, so if you have a grasshopper-free idea, that would be awesome.
I’d use Bounce for this I think- either once with a high setting or multiple times with different starting axes. See the attached file - run Bounce, with maybe 1000 bounces using Near Osnap on the red line to set the initial ray direction. I imagine you can figure out how to make bounding surfaces that will get you something like what you show in the image as lines- then maybe ApplyCurvePiping will help.
