AR settings - how to represent an object that is not on the floor?

Hi SD Team, I am trying to configure the AR for a suspended ceiling light. In my grasshopper file, the model is at 2.50m from the floor, but when I use the AR mode in ShapeDiver, the object is located on the floor (as if Z=0 instead of 2.50m). Do you have any advice to correct it?
Thank you,

This is not currently possible, as the AR feature automatically sets the origin plane to the bottom of the model at the moment. There are several ways to handle this, either by letting you disable this automatic step in the edit mode (and therefore keep the coordinate system used in Grasshopper) or make use of AR quick look features that allow to snap objects to the ceiling instead of the floor. We are discussing and exploring options internally and will get back to you soon.

Hi Mathieu, that is good to know. I think snaping objects to the ceiling is a great idea, as the ceiling height can be different from the one you set in your model.
Let me know if you add some way to solve this.

Same here, I was also seeking for a way to track ceilings/walls, to put geometries on them.

Believe that can be useful for designers creating interior equipment. It could be great feature for one of my future client tho.

Hello @Leeora, hello @DanielK1,

we are currently evaluating how and what can be done in those cases. We definitely agree that this kind of feature can be very useful! We’ll get back to you once we have some concrete results.

Cheers, Michael
