Anyone noticed selections are unreliable in V8? Clicks get missed

thanks @eobet
RH-85940 Clipped object prevents selection

For what it’s worth, I am often unable to select objects even with no clipping planes.

The only way to address this is to get a repeatable sample saved in the state where you see this issue.

The file I attached here still exhibits the behavior I described when I open it. When the red object is selected, other clicks are missed. Clicking the red object again or another object de-selects everything as though I clicked the background, and using shift-select while only the red object is selected doesn’t select additional objects when clicking their faces (clicking edges still works).

Hi Measure -

I’m afraid that still isn’t reproducible here.

From that SystemInfo, it looks like you have two monitors. What happens when you run with only one monitor?
-wim

Still have the problem with only one monitor.

Thanks.
What are the Windows display settings set to? Are you running at something other than the recommended scaling?
-wim

The only possibly weird thing is the UI scale, but changing that to 100% doesn’t fix it.

Can we get the display resolution of the monitor with the issue and the monitor that does not have the problem?

Typically making the monitors similar in resolution can resolve some strange and unexplainable issues.

Thanks for your help.

Sorry for the confusion. The issue occurs with both monitors in dual configuration as well as with each one individually.

I managed to reproduce that too and just sent @Gijs an example file!

RH-85940 is fixed in Rhino 8 Service Release 17
