Another boolean union problem

Hello!

Another classic boolean union problem. I try to boolean union this star shape to the round bottom plate but it makes holes in each middle part of the star. Eh, the picture should explain this better.

I’ve tried to “flip” it, but it tells me “Cannot flip closed solid”. I tried to “Cap” but it doesn’t work. I tried to fill them with another extrusion, but then boolean union fails. I tried to create a new star from scratch, but it didn’t help either. I cannot figure out this problem. The star is made from single curve and “pipe” function.

I tried making it bigger and smaller and everything in between. Everything makes it fail or then make magic holes. Im stuck, any ideas?

Next thing to try:

post your file here so someone could take a look…

Here you go. To replicate this, you need to boolean union the bottom plate, the outer circular part and the star. It either makes it fail or then creates these holes.

Hello- the star parts intersect one another:

These need to be trimmed to one another

Thank you, that is an intresting solution. Something I would’ve not figured out
