Angle inference from another curve/line?

Hello,

Im wondering, if I have a simple line at some angle , and I start drawing a second unconnected line, can I make it lock to the angle of the first line so that I get two parallel lines?

This is a inference feature available in sketchup and I have not been able to figure out how to do this in rhino.

Is this possible with a simple line, and/or a segment of a poly line?

You could use the object snap “AlongParallel”, but I find it painful, needs 3 clicks…

Thank you kindly, that works!

Uses SmartTrack

smart track doesnt seem to work for this.

Hi jazz…
Have you set parallels in options Modelings Aids SamrtTrack ?

Hi Vittorio,

Yes, I have, but it never gives me a parallel track. Perhaps I don’t know how to use it, where to set the inference. Can you explain how I use smart track to get a parallel result between two unconnected lines?

Hi Jazz…
Watch this youtube video:

Ciao Vittorio

I had to check smart ortho in the smart track options as well. Now it works just like in the video.

Thanks so much for taking the time to make the video. Much apreciated.
