I know this could be much simplier but I want the way it is So, letās say there is a kind of āenvelopeā working partially as a wall, partially as a slab. I want it to have the same layers and, as you can see, slabs could enclose the space on the top and bottom surface. To get this effect I have had to prepare 11 different entities, walls and slabs⦠It could be much more convenient if there was an option to flip slabs, as we can do with walls. Then I would need only 6 entities It could be even more easier if walls could interact with slabs: all the definitions have the same layers, with the same setting (normal/core etc). Then 1 entity would be enough. Well, what do you think? I could send you a bit of this model for analyzing.
Oh, I havenāt added āsideā walls, I just donāt need them. But I have tried just to check how these would work. This is a real pain to get good connections..
And, by the way, another idea: would it be possible to add a named section style? Such option would greatly simplify and make more convenient changing and maintaing drawings:
@jerry.bakowski We can study the option to flip slabs. But itās not that common as with walls, since the slabs usually have a top surface and a bottom, with distinguished layers, while walls define their interior and exterior side depending on the direction of their path, which is something that can be mistaken easily.
On the other hand, walls and slabs intersect automatically. If they have the same section styles, their intersection line will hide. So right now, for this particular case, you would just need 2 slab styles and 1 wall style.
And I can imagine there could lots of buildings going beyond your definition of a slab Imagine, you can have a building in the shape of an ellipsoid. An egg. I can easily imagine that. You, Asuni, could be the first BIM in the universe to get this shape with a single entity. Just cosider this as a entity built with a surface normals. It can be done with Grasshopper (I have checked it), so I think it could be done with VisualARQ. Then, the options are unlimited
And Enric, I will wait for official Rhino 9 release. I cannot afford to take risk during regular design practice. Moving from Rhino 6 to Rhino 8 was a challenge itself. Anyway, thank you for the info, this sounds great.
