Alternatives for Rhino for Free-Time use?

Unfortunately I have no student licence of Rhino.
So I’m looking for an alternativ to Rhino to desing NURBS/Bezier curves and surface for free-time use like in the following link:

Can someone propose an alternative?

Thanks in advance

Never tried it, but maybe
The most friendly NURBS modeller ever. Don’t let the simplistic homepage deceive you, it’s astonishingly deep but very easy to use. And created by a former developer of Rhino, so it’s using the same file format.
Affordable and very good at creating clean mesh exports.
Much less CAD-ish than Rhino, much more targeted at the designer to directly get ideas sketched out (works great with a pen too) in a friendly, intuitive environment. But under the hood it’s far from being a toy.
Give it a try, I can highly recommend it.

I have a trial version of Moi. Impressive. Copy and paste objects between Rhino and Moi when things gets tricky will ease some of your pain.
