(Alt) seperation direction not changing directions (Mac)

Hi,

Im using the Alt - click to seperate different components, the popup states that if I press alt again I can change the direction of the seperation, left right up down, but that command is not working for me. I am on a Mac, so Im not sure if that is the problem. Any advice?

I see that this has not been implemented on macOS and added this to the to-do list - RH-68505.
