Advanced Rhino Display Modes McNeel Wiki pages out of date

I would like to use some of the Advanced Rhino Display Modes advertised on the Wiki (Advanced Rhino Display Modes [McNeel Wiki]) but I find that the links to the background images are out-of-date or broken. Now that Rhino 8 is shipping, perhaps someone with the original background files could update the Wiki page with fresh sources for these background images.

Thank you.

Hi David - the links to the images seem correct here so far - which ones are not working for you?

HI Pascal,

The Blueprint background bitmap links to the PSDGraphics website (Blank blueprint paper | PSDgraphics) where the file is claimed to have a resolution of 5000x3750 for a file size of 4.65MB, but their link only provides a 214kB file that is 1600x1200. I had downloaded the 5000x3750 file back in 2016 so, at one time, that link provided the advertised file. Perhaps that high resolution is not needed in which case maybe a note should be added to just get the 1600x1200-resolution version.

Similarly, the link for the “blackboard_by_crisazi.jpg” file needed for the Blackboard display mode now leads to the DeviantArt website (Blackboard by crisazi on DeviantArt) where the artist (“crisazi”) only provides a “psd” file which requires a graphics program to convert it into a jpg or png. The original “blackboard_by_crisazi.jpg” file is no longer available nor is any directly-usable file available.

Next, the Ghosted Blueprint display mode used to link to a file called “blueprint-1920x1200.png” but on the Rhino 5 version of the Advanced Rhino Display Modes page (Advanced Rhino Display Modes [McNeel Wiki]) the link is broken (https://andrewl14.files.wordpress.com/2011/04/blueprint-1920x1200.png) and on the Rhino 6&7 version of the page (Advanced Rhino Display Modes [McNeel Wiki]) the link leads to a 1920x1080 version of the image (https://img.wallpapersafari.com/desktop/1920/1080/43/0/jvwWQK.jpg) that appears to have been cropped from the original 1920x1200 image, leaving a very narrow top margin.

Finally, the Rhino 5 version of the page has a section at the very end that talks about how to print with these modes; that section appears to have been omitted from the Rhino 6/7 version of the page.

Since these are Wiki pages, I attempted to login to edit them myself but was unsuccessful. Also I have no place to link to that hosts the needed image files, thus my post.

Thank you.
