Adjust Cycles' material transparency globally

Is there a way to make Cycles less sensitive to material transparency?

I’m trying to set both renders (vray and cycles) to look as close to each other as reasonably possible and it seems that vray treats this transparent value more severely than Cycles.

I wouldn’t use Custom, but rather PBR. Then you have both opacity and alpha to play with.
