Hi, I’d like to ask if anyone is using the tables in VisualARQ for calculating areas more complex projects? Specifially I would like to make the table not only recognize individual spaces but also the unit the spaces belong to, and add the areas from the spaces to the total area sum of the unit. I’ve attached a very crude sketch of what I mean. From what it seems the onlz way is to create a space from a curve that outlines the flat and then add that to the table with the spaces as rooms, but that seems like I’d run into some problems sooner or later in the project.
Do you have any idea how it works? If it’s possible to include/exlude the walls and other construction surfaces - so you can chose if you are counting a gross sq area or a net area?
That’s not possible right now. There’s an option when you insert a space to select the “Built” area, but it will detect all the connected walls, and not specific ones you select. And this option is not currently working properly.
There is also a command to set objects (curves, surfaces, solids…) as spatial elements, so spaces will detect them to calculate the area of a room. And another command to unset them as spatial objects, but it’s not working with walls or other VisualARQ objects.
As a workaround, you can draw a polyline with the gross/net area of a room and create the space from that curve.
