Add License

If the Zoo service is running and has licenses, then use the Zoo Diagnostic tool from the workstation to test the connection:
https://wiki.mcneel.com/zoo/diagnostics

What version of Windows are you running?
This might be relevant too:
https://wiki.mcneel.com/zoo/windows101803

And has licenses… good joke.
The problem is, I can’t add licenses.
See very first post.

1803
It was the same with 1709.

The mentioned service runs, startup mode is set to automatic.
I checked this before, and now again.

EDIT:
The diagnostic tool says all is ok.

Check out the Wiki article I linked.

You might try “Repairing” the Zoo 6 install using the Control Panel tools too.
The installer adds the product “plug-ins” that support the different license types.
If something moved or deleted them, then you could get those errors.

I’ve never seen that happen so I’m guessing.

I did as you advised.

I tried.
Surprisingly there is no repair option.
I uninstalled.
And reinstalled.
No change in described behavior (see post #1)

Do you have this folder and files?

Yes:

Does your Registry point to the correct location for your Zoo plugins?

Yes:

Interesting, Zoo6 to find under 5…

The only other thing I can think of to check is the Zoo service event logs.

Start your Zoo and attempt to add a license.
In The Zoo View menu, choose Event Viewer
Expand Applications and Services Logs
Select McNeel
Browse through the events (newest is at the top) looking for Zoo events

If it works, the log event looks something like this:

What does your failed event log show?

Something like this:

Sorry, I thought I was clear.
I want to see the event log when you get a failure in adding a license.

If you stop the service then start it, you should see 5 event logs:

  • Service starting
  • Licenses loaded
  • Zoo plug-ins (your screenshot)
  • Zoo Hostname being set
  • Service started

Then attempt to add a license and see what the next event logs show.

I get 6 events, all ID 0.
Listed form oldest to newest:

  1. Zoo 6 (6.5.18102.4091) Service Stopped.

  2. Zoo 6 (6.5.18102.4091) Service Starting…

  3. Zoo Plugins:
    Rhino WIP for Mac
    Rhino 6
    Rhino 5 for Windows
    Rhino 5 for Mac
    Bongo 2.0
    Flamingo nXt 6.0
    Flamingo nXt 5.0
    Brazil 2.0
    Flamingo nXt
    Penguin 2.0

  4. Zoo Licenses:
    No Licenses

  5. Zoo Server Hostname: (MACHINE NAME)
Remark: (MACHINE NAME) shows the correct name.

  6. Zoo 6 (6.5.18102.4091) Service Started.

Nothing else.

Thanks for those details.
I’ll see if one of the developers can have a look.
We’ve run off the end of my skill set.

I could export the *.evtx file and hand it over, but not in public.
If you need it, say something.

@charles a while ago you offered that we could do a TeamViewer session. Let’s PM to set something up, and I’ll see if I can figure out what’s going wrong.

That is means you need to connect your PC with any network . Must be have an network connection to use Zoo server .

Good hint
We know that for sure, and there are network connections.
Brian works on the issue.

Okay
