About the XirusCAD category

This is the support forum for Xirus, a brand-new geometric modeling kernel which provides ‘augmented CAD’: a powerful modeling technology that combines the best of the worlds of NURBS, subdivision, and polygon meshes and adds augmented access to the 3D digital object. Xirus provides decoupled control of tangents, curvature, mixed- and higher order derivatives and enables direct smoothness control in 3D modeling. The WIP will be released on 20. November. Have a look at the tutorial videos at www.mirrakoi.com.

Thanks for the announcement Carlos!

Why would anyone invest his time and money into geometric modeling kernel which is not patented and is posted on a crippled website? Under the best of circumstances this kernel will be abandoned due to the lack of money. (Autodesk will not drop its T-splines, and nobody else has the money.)

Mirrakoi advertisement is posted here: http://www.swiss-startup-guide.ch/2017/Start-Ups-on-the-Way-to-Success/Mirrakoi#achievements
(It provides no information (numbers, dates, etc.) about patent applications. I invented very good geometric modeling kernel, but I have not applied for a patent yet, and I do not sell my chicken before they hatch.)

Hello,

I can not seem to download the trial software? I have tried multiple times after registering and following the tutorial and the page it eventually loads is an error page.

Thank you

Are you still facing the issue?
(Sorry for the late reply. I recommend to directly post on the mirrakoi forum for all kinds of requests regarding Xirus: https://discourse.mirrakoi.com/)

Yes it still sends me to a error page after I click the download link.

Hi Matthew_Catagnus,

You can download the latest version of the free Xirus WIP from https://mirrakoi.com/xirus-for-rhino/. You should be logged in and accept the terms and conditions of our EULA. Without further specifications, it is hard to guess what the exact issue is. Could you try using another browser?
If the problem still appears, please send us an e-mail to support@mirrakoi.com with a screenshot of the error message (+ some additional information whether you are using a firewall or proxy, etc.).

Best,
Zsuzsanna

Do you have any plan with rhino for mac ?

Dear @petermasek,

Yes, we have. However, Rhino for Mac does not support C++ third-party plugins yet. As soon as they do, we will provide Xirus for Rhino Mac.

Cheers,
Zsuzsanna

I have found their mediocre U.S. patent application number 20170357736: http://appft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO1&Sect2=HITOFF&d=PG01&p=1&u=%2Fnetahtml%2FPTO%2Fsrchnum.html&r=1&f=G&l=50&s1="20170357736".PGNR.&OS=DN/20170357736&RS=DN/20170357736

Didn’t you say you’d created a subD modeller?
Where can we find your patent application?
