Note the red error bubble, this gives a description as well as highlights the geometry errors (orange dots that you see in the far right image)
Thank you, but I set the tolerances as required. However, when I import this closed multifaceted surface into Revit, the problem still occurs. Why is this happening? How can I optimize it? Is there any underlying logic? I usually complete the task in Rhino and then import it into Revit, and this problem occasionally occurs. I’d like to know if there’s any pattern to this.

Hello. I recreated a few shapes with similar forms, yet I still find that this issue occurs unpredictably. This has been frustrating for me, as the process often fails at the very last step after I’ve finished modeling in Rhino. Here is my .3dm file; I would appreciate your guidance on this.

I reconstructed the mesh into a SubD object and then converted that SubD object into a closed polysurface using the “ToNurbs” command. I observed a pattern: the more subdivision faces there are, the lower the likelihood of encountering issues, though the resulting file size is larger.

Its not about the document tolerances per say, its about the geometry created. You can have doc tolerances set and still create tiny curves while doing boolean operations for instance. How Revit generates the view of curved surfaces is different as well. In general Revit is for creating architectural representations, not fabrication level details or pillow shapes.
If you are making these to distribute for projects you will want to consider the impact the project. Highly detailed furniture (especially if it contains dense meshes) can slow a project down. Users want representations that will not impact the project performance.
What is the intent of your families?
Do you mean that even if certain objects are treated as a solid in Rhino, Revit might reveal minute discrepancies that lead to errors?
We need to create some furniture families and want them to have a smooth, rounded look; this requires using SubD, but converting SubD to NURBS ,leads to unpredictable issues in Revit
There isn’t a 1 to 1 relation from Rhino to Revit curved surfaces or Revit to Rhino. They use different geometry kernels. This is very apparent when converting a curvy Revit object to Rhino and then back again.
There is no 100% method to create pillowy surfaces in Rhino to Revit that will eliminate displaying extra lines in Revit.
This is furniture for architecture, at some point you need to say its close enough.
