A question about merge faces in gh

stair.gh (35.9 KB)
Hi,
I was trying to merge the faces after solid union component. I found the curves on one side became straight segments after the merge while the other side was just fine. I baked the breps before solid union then tried in rhino and it returned same result. (I work with rhino 8.14.)
I wonder how is this happening and how do I avoid it.
Much appreciated.

Make sure Mesh Preview Quality is set to High

Thanks for reply, and my preview setting is high for sure. If you bake it in rhino you can see the edge become straight segments but not curves. So…I think it’s not a display error.

You need to ensure the document mesh settings are also at least high quality.

Problem solved, thanks a lot!

Problem update

Hi Nathan,

I found the problem still exists on my working computer. I tried your solution on the pc in my home and it works fine. But when I turned to the pc in my work place the problem happened again(all the preview settings were correct with both rhino 8.14). And when I trying to select those edges, I found they become actual “polyline crv”. Which means the “merge faces” component actually turned those edges into polyline. Is that right?

solved again, I changed the tolerance of the rhino file and recompute the file(not my idea though, someone told me to). Now it works fine!
