Hi,
I’m a novice Rhino user and can’t seem to figure out how to draw this interlace pattern in 3D. I’ve tried a few techniques but none have given me the results I’m looking for.
I’ve been trying to take the pattern I’ve drawn in 2D and make it rise and fall in specific spots to create an even 3D interlace pattern.
Here are the techniques I’ve tried so far. If anyone has any suggestions for a better way to draw this, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks.
Here is what I’ve tried:
SolidPtOn - Using SolidPtOn would work great if there was a way I could add extra points for more control. Is there a way to add extra points to a solid to give me more editing choices?
CageEdit gives me more control points to adjust, but they aren’t exactly where I want them to be. I can push and pull multiple points with CageEdit and get something that looks OK, but I’d like something more accurate and consistent if possible.
Crv2View - Tried using the Curve From Two Views and combining the centerline of the interlace pattern drawn on the x and y axis with a curve that rises and falls on along the Z axis. This didn’t work well for several reasons.
