Han-Yin Hsu of ANNXANNXDESIGN specializes in small lines of jewelry 3-D printed in both metal and colorful plastic. The Los Angeles designer starts with a hand drawn sketch, then turns it to a 3-D model using Maya. She then converts it to a 3-D printable model using Rhino. Han-Yin orders her 3-D printed designs in bulk, then attaches chains, ear clips, and other finishing pieces. She also dyes some of the pieces to get unique colors. Software makes it possible for her to make shapes not available from most traditional jewelry making methods.
Han-Yin started her career with a Masters degree in architecture from Southern California Institute of Architecture. She spent several years working for interior designers and design firms, before starting ANNXANNXDESIGN.
