It should be. This is one of the most frequent requests (see: IR-96). There are some special technical challenges with this one.
One workaround that users have discovered is to use the ExtrudeCrv command in Rhino to make tiny ribbons. iRhino 3D can display these. That said, I doubt this would work well for your purposes. (This is not a sound solution, but a dirty hack).
