Why can I not join the patch and the geometry?

Hi

I am following tutorials with patch command. I created a simple geometry with a hole that I used the patch command. However, I am not able to join the patch piece with the geometry. I am a newb, so I am wondering if I am missing something. Attaching file. Thanks

Hi Talos- it will probably need a few more spans to be able to Join, (set in the Patch dialog) but, most likely, you want to Untrim that hole from the surfaces and rebuild that corner cleanly from the existing surfaces.

Ah. Untrimming and and then patching with more spans worked. Can you explain what you did in the new file? I really appreciate it.
