Tools, one step back

Is there a method to step back during an object placement? For example I am placing a box. Following the prompts of the tool I place the first point and then I place second point. The next prompt is for the 3rd point but I decide that I want go back a step and change the 2nd point. Is there keyin to take me a step back?

Undo doesn’t work in the middle of the box command although some commands will allow for an undo while it’s running, e.g. when drawing a curve you can undo (cmd+z) to undo the last point. For your example, I would either run the box command again or use a sub-object selection on the face defining the box width after the command is completed and edit it that way.

BrianJ, thank you for your response.
