Surfaces lost with the split and Trim command

If you cut a volume with an operation Boolean2Objects or make a hole, the side surfaces corresponding to the cut are reconstructed, if instead you cut a volume with the Split or Trim command, you lose the areas corresponding to the cut; would be comfortable that this does not happen, maybe as an option.
Thanks,
Giuseppe

try _BooleanSplit

Fundamental to working in Rhino is understanding the difference between commands that are primarily surface editing tools (like Split, Trim) and primarily volume (solid) editing tools (like Boolean operations, Wirecut). Surface editing tools do not care if the resulting objects are closed or not, whereas solid editing tools do try to keep the objects closed - if they were to begin with.

I understand the difference; thanks to you for the explanation.
