Trivial question: "How come you can not get a shelling of a cone? Has a limit of Rhino or any generic CAD?

That’s a limitation in the Shell command we haven’t ‘special cased’ yet. You’ll need to extract the inner surface and Trim it back to the point of self-intersection.
I just made sure it is on the pile for fixing.
