Holomark 2 Released!

I fix it. Thanks… You are right. It was from Windows User Acount Name. (even a_andre wont work)

It seems like these operations are largely single threaded in Rhino. This CPU (Xeon, 2.4GHz) got a worse score than my laptop i7 2.7GHz (Holomark CPU score 13379 vs 14 224).

Just confirms that all that really matters here is the clock speed, not the number of cores.

Can’t figure how to post the result.

I guess I’m the ‘little kid on the block’

Same computer with hyperthreading turned off. Just about everything is slightly quicker with hyperthreading except:
GPU_16 (40 units with HT vs 43 w/o HT)
GPU_21 (8.3fps vs 11fps)
and the big one:
CPU_06 - Reduce mesh (14.96 vs 12.37sec)

Rhino 5 sr 10 64 bit

from my home computer. when I work there I can smoke my pipe and drink a beer.

Hehe  Nice to have an excuse…

But if you need to work on it then just add a dedicated graphiccard. The CPU is strong enough for a lot of work… actually it is impressively competitive…

You could get a used Quadro or even a new Quadro K420 for just over $100.

And you need to look into your Dell T1500, the i7 doesn’t get the scores it should. It should at least be as fast as your Pentium. http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Pentium-E5400-vs-Intel-Core-i7-870

How do I uninstall holomark 2 from Rhino

When you run Holomark it tells you where it runs it from, close Rhino and delete that folder.
Then manually delete the four display modes within Rhino. This has to be done manually as there are no automatic way for me to do that.

Just so you know: Holomark does not require much space, nor does having it installed slow Rhino down.

Hope that helps.

Is holomark website currently down?

Not that I know, and seems to be up and running now.

this is the third time in the past 4 mos i have posted results for my pc. i keep tweaking my settings and the pc itself. i keep making significant improvements. if i remember right my original test was at about 24k. now i finally broke the 30k mark. its not up there in the sixties or better like some of you guy but for a puny computer i threw together for $450 i think this is fantastic.

I have discoverd that with this version (5.11.50107.14545, 07/01/2015) I got the best ever benchmark… i don’t know why but it is as if my card was unlocked.

this is the score and settings

I leave developers to understand why… it s not dependent on video drivers…
with all other versions, including the latest, the test is like this:

Pitti

GTX 660 with i7 920

Bit crap really when I look at all the other results!

It’s not crap if it does the job…
And you can argue that the other machines are just waste by being too powerful…

But yout UDT is too slow, do you have V-ray installed? If so try to update it. Or temporarily disable it in the pluginmanager.

Fair point…

So I switched off the Vray plugin - restarted Rhino and now my mark is over 25000 - that sound right.?

Rhino 5 sr 11 64 bit

So if I wanted to purchase new/latest computer what setup would you recommend for a £1000 budget?

Currently have i7 920 (2.67GHz) with GTX 660

If would buy a new computer than optimized for speed - I would take a CPU with high frequency (4GHz) and the ASUS GTX 780 STRIX OC 6GB (I current use here). This card with 6GB is good for the Rhino display, GPU rendering, 4K screens, silent, … .
