how to install HOLOMARK in windows 7 x64?

i want to test my GTX 780M and share some results. … any help here?

Holomark is the name of the first Rhino performance test. Holomark2 is the current version for use on Rhino5 sr8 and later. It’s a Rhino plugin, not something that installs in Windows. Just download it and run the installer to install it in Rhino. See the first post in this thread for the download link.

If I misunderstood and you really want Holomark to run on Rhino4, I guess you’ll need to wait for Holo to weigh in.

Here, for your amusement, are the Holomark2 results for my old Dell Precision 380 with an nVidia Quadro 600.

Nevertheless, still a perfectly acceptable machine for the relatively small models I work on.

Here are my 2 tests with diferent laptops. One old, and the other just fresh bought:

1ª - GeForce GT 8700M 512Mb GDDR3

2º - GeForce GTX 780M 4Gb GDDR5 (its a shame score for it`s specs)

are this scores really a shame for the GTX 780M?? is this normal??

2012 iMac (lots of plugins, T-Splines, VSR, Evolute Tools & others).

You didn’t respond to Holo in the other thread asking you if you were sure the 780M was being used by Rhino. It’s possible the Intel card is. Also, the 780M has good specs for gaming - it is a gaming card. It should do better than you’re showing here, but it is not specially designed for CAD or Rhino.

Post a screen grab of your Options > View > OpenGL screen that shows the video card details.

You said you were also considering the Quadro K3100M. Did you look for it above? Here’s one result where it appears to do very well with Rhino, hard to believe that’s a laptop’s scores: Holomark 2 Released!

In Rhino Options - View - OpenGL, the top option for using accelerated hardware modes should be selected. Assuming it is, does the lower portion of the options page describe your GeForce 780M card or the Intel HD 4600?

  • the display modes all have white backgrounds and
  • the score curve will print as red.

Yes John… I have OpenGL “using accelerate hardware mode” turn on. and Yes to the fact that appears GTX 780M described below. I have made NVidia optimus configuration, so all 3D apps run in GTX 780 and not in Intel HD graphics…

I think it is just Geforce simply doesn`t handle OPENGL, like it should be, or like its GeForce old cards would better.

Nvidia fabric have made you policies. We consumers, only have 2 choices… Or we buy a game pc or a workstation… Old graphics are better for 3D… the new ones are suck… And I am very pissed of… If I could I would went to “pass-time” and reconfigurate this new laptop with a QUADRO K3100M like it should be at the first moment.

Shame on me… Spend all year to research and ask people their knowledge and advises, and I don’t know why I have choose this GTX 780M piece of crap…Since I don’t play games.

yes. you are right… I have seen that QUADRO K3100M scores… Bless that configuration. Although it is a XEON processor, and 32Gb ram…

I have to consider… This is a GTX 780M problem… It is not design for 3D applications. Although is their engine is by OPENGL… This simply cant handle de job… Low scores…

I only have a nice workflow in AUTOCAD 2010 or 2012… PHOTOSHOP CS5 good scores too… Not in OPENGL or OPENCL…

This was my bad choice… shame on me… BAD LUCK to… Because I spend almost an year to research and ask some advises… and I really don’t know why, I came stuck in this crap of GTX 780M… I still don`t know why I do not made the QUDRO K3100M choice. … :frowning:

I don’t know what I have to do more, beside change it for QUADRO K3100M… Beside it is only in OPENGL trouble.

This just came in, another “way to hight” GeForce score on a 580.
And again the UDT score is really low…

I saw that Pro cards are very good at Mesh works.
But I’m usually work with nurbs model

I find windows 8 Real time clock(RTC)is not accurate sometimes.And holomark do not works well on win8 plantform.The score is not stable.
