Gumball extend cylinder doesnt latch onto dimension tip where wish to extend to

Hi,
If I use arrow tool and scale1D and extend cylinder length I can get my cursor to osnap to the dimension arrow tip I wish to extend the cylinder to, I tried for gumball and was dragging the small square which was at the end of my cylinder , keeping pace with that end so it was where I wanted cylinder end to go, yet it wouldnt snap to anything.

I do not believe Gumball ever the ability to snap to anything

In gumball option “snappy dragging” will activate snap.
