-Alt Click to select submember of group (you can then edit it but it remains a groupmember)

Ctrl-Shift click does that now- are you suggesting separating in-group selection from sub-object selection to avoid the ‘choose one object’ menu ? I agree that would be a good thing.

Yes I see- tho actually Ctrl+Shift and you can select whole submember or subobject.
